Ecological Creativity is our project for 2020, and as the name suggests we are looking into creative ways to innovate and contribute to the ecology around us. We have high hopes for this year and look forward to working to improve the world around us and making a difference, however big or small.
Group Introduction
A short introduction on each group member.
What is Ecological Creativity
People who are driven to be creative seek and find favorable environments to be creative in. They also modify existing environments in ways that enable them to realize their creativity and they also create entirely new environments in which they and others can be creative.
Our Aim
Our aim is to aware people the we can make creative objects to help the environment.
Interview with Greensole Greensole Interview we interviewed the Greensole company and asked them a few questions about how they make shoes out of used slippers.
This is the initiative taken by Greensole to help the environment.
Article 2- Ecologically Creative Products Ecologically Creative products are products that are innovative, eco-friendly and still creative and appealing. Our work with Ecologically Creative Products started with gathering information on the subject by conducting an interview with an organization that worked on creating such items
We held our interview in the beginning of January, with a representative from a company called Greensole. The company focuses on using old, used footwear to create new ones. They reuse parts such as the straps, laces and soles to make shoes and slippers, and provide them to those in need. They aim to reduce wastage of resources, by reusing materials, and also to reduce the many infections and other health issues caused by a lack of footwear among people in rural areas. Our group spoke with the representative about how this idea was formed and what challenges a company like this could face.
The next step we took was to try and design our own ecologically creative product. We focused on being relevant to the current state of the world in the coronavirus pandemic, and came up with the idea of easy-to-use mask storage. We did research on similar products, such as mask pouches and other items, and finally took inspiration from them to create our own sketch and report. Finally, we conducted a survey to see if any changes needed to be made. 100% of the people who took our survey said that hygienic mask storage was important to them, and that good storage methods were crucial in these times. The survey also helped us gather more information on existing products that people knew about.
Our work with ecologically creative products has been interesting, and we hope to make further progress with our product idea and research.
An initiative taken by our group to make mask holders
This is the brochure made by our group on the eco friendly mask holder. It also consists of the blueprints of the mask holder.
Our interviews were successful we gained a lot of information from them. We could've been more interactive and interviewed more people. Our group collaborated in every task and everything went as planned. We learnt that waste can be created into new daily use objects such as slippers, clothes and we can save the environment by reusing waste. We learnt that there many companies actually trying to to reduce the carbon footprint. Before conducting this project we did not have much concrete information on how we can reuse waste but now after this project we have a clear idea on the topic, and how to work upon it.
Report on communication
This project was conducted independently (without collaboration) as the partner school did not have a similar project. Hence there is no evidence for communication report.
